Stop Motion

Stop motion is a generic general term for an animation technique which makes static objects appear to move. Many still frames are taken then put together to create the illusion of movement. It can be quite a painstaking technique with only a few seconds of actual footage been produced after an entire day. Stop motion animation is almost as old as film-making itself, dating back to 1898, it has been used recently in popular TV shows and movies such as Wallace & Gromit and Chickenrun. Perhaps that is what inspired these budding young filmmakers to give it a go. More examples of their work can be seen here.
